Kadara joined our herd from Lucky Star Farm in the spring of 2018. Kadara is the most confident doeling we’ve ever encountered, walking with a commanding and graceful presence as if to say “I demand your complete attention”. Kadara is very wide, tall, and well proportioned taking after her dam, Lucky Star’s LX Barani 5*M EX91 (EEEE), a 6th generation GCH doe and 3rd generation Top Ten milk producer. Kadara’s sire, SG +*B Tempo Cai Daniel brings off-the-chart genetics to the table, going back through SGCH Tempo Hannah 5*M EX91 (EEEV) and SGCH Lucky Star’s Vivian 4*M EX94 (EEEE). With a genetic background like this, it’s hard to think Kadara will be anything less than stellar in performance and production in the coming years.

2019 Updates

We had intentions to include Kadara in our 2019 breeding plans, then at 7 months she contracted polio and never came into heat until January so we decided not to breed her, keeping her instead to show as a dry yearling. Kadara continues to show nice growth, general appearance and overall dairyness. She performed very well last year in the show ring and we expect the same of her this coming year.

Kadara started off the 2019 show season where she left off in 2018. At the Boise Syringa show among very strong competition she went RCH in one ring and GCH in another, winning her dry leg towards her permanent championship designation. She continued with the incredible show with a 13th place at Nationals,  winning RCH at the Bitterroot Show, winning GCH at the Montana State Fair and winning RCH at the Twin Falls Fair. Just an incredible year for this yearling, 8 class wins, 2 GCH, 3 RCH and a 13th placing at Nationals; hard to ask for more !!

2020 Updates

2020 presented more than its share of setbacks due to the Covid 19 Pandemic. Cancellation of LA Appraisals and the majority of ADGA sanction shows provided little opportunity to evaluate our does. We remained committed to DHIR Testing and was overly ecstatic to receive the news that Kadara made the ADGA Elite Doe list scoring in the 95th percentile. Such an incredible achievement for this two year old first freshener. In December, Kadara again made the ADGA Elite Doe list, this time scoring in the 98th percentile.

June 20, 2021

Today Kadara lost her will to live and passed over the rainbow. Kadara came to this farm as a two month old bottle baby from Lucky*Star and had an incredible show record as a junior including 8 class wins, 2 GCH wins, 3 RCH wins and a 13th place at the 2019 Nationals show. Last year was supposed to be Kadara’s time to shine as a milker however COVID and a bad case of coccidia had other plans for her, yet she still went on to earn her spot on ADGA’s Elite Doe List as a 2 year old. 2021 started off with a bang when Kadara milked 15# to start the milk test season. Everything was looking great, then Kadara came down with an extreme case of mastitis on Wednesday and lost her battle on Sunday despite all the care we provided to battle it. Kadara blessed us with a beautiful yearling doe, DeLuna Mirabel who won her dry leg and both GCH and RCH placings at this year’s Syringa show. We hope and pray that Mirabel can pick up where Kadara left off, carrying the torch forward. Kadara had the most beautiful, mellow temperament and will be sorely missed. Rest in peace pretty girl.
